Journey logs

The procedure of approval of journey logs includes that the transporter sends the journey log to the relevant regional Veterinary and Food Control Authorities at least 2 working days prior to the planned journey. This means that the regional authority approving the journey log has sufficient time to make an optimal and effective control of the planned journey.

The journey log must be realistic, including the driving and resting sequences for the driver/drivers. As a tool to control the journey times, the regional Veterinary and Food Authorities has access to route planning software.

The regional Veterinary and Food Administration keeps a copy of the approved journey log and gives the transporter an addressed envelope for the returning of the journey log to the authority after the journey of the animals has been completed. The journey logs have to be returned within one month.
