What do you bring home?

If you want to bring food and products home from your journey abroad, please note that you are not allowed to bring certain products into Denmark.

You are not allowed to bring food, e.g. meat and different products of animal origin, into Denmark from countries outside the EU. It is forbidden. If listed on the list of prohibited products, your goods will be confiscated by the customs authorities.

Food which contains meat, egg and milk may contain infections from sick animals. This may mean that you unknowingly bring a disease into Denmark, which may infect both humans and animals. Outbreaks of the infectious disease avian influenza and other infectious diseases not found in Denmark have been reported various places in the world.

Think carefully when you make purchases abroad and do not buy food and products mentioned in this leaflet. If you are not sure whether it is legal to import a certain product, do not buy it.
