How we control

The Danish Veterinary and Food Administration (DVFA) carries out a wide range of controls regarding food safety and food hygiene. Control activities include; control of medicin, animal health, animal welfare, as well as control of food manufacturers, food businesses and restaurants.

Inspection principles

It is important that there is confidence in the control system. Both in Denmark and abroad, consumers, establishments, primary producers and inspection authorities must be able to rely on the Danish control system.

Inspection reports - food establishments

At the conclusion of an inspection in food establishments the inspector prints an inspection report.

Own checks in food establishments

Food establishments are required to perform own checks in order to compliance general food safety rules and standards.
